Is it necessary to run the lock up tube kit for the front pump when running the Precision 5 disc LU? Thanks

tube

I do as I got one of the first ones they put out. My friend bought one last week. It came with 0 instruction--a restricted fitting for the outlet cooler line. He said someone on the phone told him it was not necessary. Why not call and ask and report back as I am curious also.

I just got my non lock up restalled and made into a 5 disk 6 pump and the guy that I dealt with named Jack said that it's very highly recommended to use the pump tube kit if you are intending to lock it up at the track. Of course I don't know why anyone would want a 5 disk just for the street only but anyway. Also he said that they only recommend that you use a Gm/ AC Delco 700R4 filter when using the pump tube kit. And said do not use the 2004r filter when running the pump tube kit. Said the off brands 700r4 filters can be sucked together under load and can cause all kinds of problems. So I would think it necessary to run it. It's really easy to install on the back of the pump. My converter came with all the directions and installation tips required as did the pump tube kit. Heck, it even came with the drill bits needed to mod the pump. Very nice! Here's a link to the instruction pages telling and showing how to mod the pump. http://www.converter.com/install_book.htm
Pages 10 and 11 are for the 2004r. HTH

epoxy

BE SURE and epoxy around the holes !!!!!
I make my own tubing. I drill and tap for a 1/8 in. NPT fitting in the suction bore. Use an o-ring on the lockup bore.
