I went by the local race gas dealer and they now carry Unocal 76 only.....they say that the VP stuff went way up in price.

The guy says that C-16 is now around 12$ to 13$ bucks a gallon!!!

Is this the same everywhere?

I was quoted a price of $8.59 per gallon or $7.90 if purchased by the Drum.

That is here in Salt Lake City.

I guess ill shop around some more then.....

I was about to buy a drum of the Unocal 118....anybody know how it compares to C16?

My car has always run poorly on VP fuels and its costs twice as much. I like Unocal, Sunoco, or Phillips racing fuels. Never had any problems with them.

Last time I went to VP in Fort Lauderdale (about a month ago) it was $7.75 a gallon for C16.......

I knew there was a reason I never bought racegas. ;)

yeah i already looked at that Louie...IMO C16 is the best out there

I found another local dealer of VP fuels....interesting to note that his stuff is still 7.75$ a gallon

Prolly depends on local competition. I have to pay $8.25/gallon for a 54 gallon drum of C16.

I get C16 down here in Houston $6.55 a gallon. Maybe it's because the plants are pratically in my backyard :D

I get alot of detonation with C16 that I dont get with 114oct in other brands. You just need to try different stuff and see what your car likes better, imo.

I use the NOS that VP sells at a local shop. Its 120 octane i pay $10 a gallon for it. Does anyone know how much a drum of the NOS 120 OCTANE go for.

Interesting....i have always heard that its the best you can buy.
I have personally ran 27psi with ported champ heads/intake, 206 roller and a TE45a from John Craig with no detonation.

Also....(correct me if i'm wrong, Tony), but i also remember seeing Victory Trans GN running 29 to 30psi on C16 at Gainesville....he went 10.7s.

I'm not saying its bad, its just not right for my car. I've ran 30psi of boost 28° of timing with a TE44 and no detonation with Phillips 114 (B33).

Right i see what you're saying.....however i wonder how it holds up to big turbos like a 45a or 70 etc....a 44 puts out a lot of power but is relatively small. 20 psi with a 44 isnt the same 20 psi a large turbo makes.

I recently changed my combo and currently have a T66 with ported heads and a 214/210 roller cam. Once I get it tuned right for the 114, I'll try C16 and see what happens.

Cool, keep me posted on the results!
