Just noticed this on my recently purchased 8.5" American Racing Vector rims. There is no chamfer or taper in the lug nut holes. The taper of the lug nuts will barely go into the rim hole and center things up, but there is only 4-5 threads of engagement instead of the 9 +/- threads on stock rims.

Don't seem safe to me.

I can probably get them chamfered...anybody know the print specs??

Or is there an alternative??

Thanks, Bob

Those wheels require a shank style lug nut. I'm not sure of the length, but you should be able to find them at any local auto parts store.

Don't forget the washers for the lugs. Mine took 12 x 1.5 (metric) standard mag lugs and I bought the stainless washers.

Yup, don't confuse a bulge style (like the OEM T Type) and a shank style. The latter requires washers...

Check out McGard for proper nuts, washers and locks...

:D

Wow, you guys floor me!! In 2 hours, I go from not knowing which end is up to learning I need M12X1.5 shank lugs with SS washers.

Pretty cool...thanks.
