I have a modified 87 Regal T-Type that was modified and has a Big Stuff fuel management system. The car died and will not restart. Everything seems to be working but it just fires up runs rough and dies. We are thinking the computer lost its program but the shop that did the work is no longer in business so I can not find anybody to re-program it to see if that is the problem.Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Tanks

never seen one loose the program
what is everything seems to be working fine ???
were the plugs pulled and checked ?

when keyed on is the fuel pump coming on and does the rail have pressure (around 40psi) ? not prime should only last a few seconds and an external pump doesnt have a check valve to hold pressure when its off
was the ignition module checked ? (caspers electronics ignition simulator or caspers plug wire tester kit )
cam sensor should be checked both cap for operation (use a casper cam sensor set tool or a volt meter )
do visual check of the cam sensor reluctor disc which can come loose an move from its indexed spot and cause issues
if you have fuel pressure and a working cam sensor ... caspers sells a simple to use tester that speeds up a no start issue but you claim it runs but poor so something is amiss ..http://www.casperselectronics.com/cart/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=925

crank sensor can be visually checked that it isnt rubbing (balancer wobble happens) but can be replaced cheap enough
tps can be checked with a voltmeter (or connect to the bS3)
visual check all vac lines

having a car with BS3 you really should get a laptop and connect to the ecu and learn whats what and log data .. theres a well written help manual to learn how to use BS3 . http://bigstuff3.com/manuals/

some of basic trobleshooting checks with voltmeter can be read up on this site .. http://vortexbuicks-etc.com/

Once the plugs where changed it fired up but ran really rough for about 5 seconds and dies. Almost like timing is way off.

Did it ever run right?
Might be one of the reasons the shop is no longer in business?
