Proportioning Valve

Overstroking just introduces air into the system so you need to start the bleed again at the mc. This time with safety glasses or goggles, and something between the pedal floor board have the helper slowly and steadily depress the pedal and you will see the air bubbles in the reservoir. Repeat until the reservoir produces no bubbles, even the real little ones before moving on to the wheels. Other wise you are putting air into the system.

Wait a minute. Are you always supposed to put something under the pedal when you bleed any MC? Or are there certain ones that "overstroke"?

I always have as I used my girlfriend, neighbor, child, wife or whoever and I didnt/couldn't know how far they were stroking the pedal. In my experience when the pedal is put to the floor with a bleeder open the system gets air introduced to it because the mc inner piston goes too far openning it up and letting air in. Others might not have had this problem and may be it is a gm or Buick thing .
