Hey guys, how much you think it would cost me to get a shop to put the front end kit on for me? I've just gotten the sway bar off of the front and it feels like this whole job is gonna be a struggle. So, unless anyone in the Columbus area wants to come down here and give me a hand, I need a good price I should be expecting to get from a shop. Thanks.

You have to have a Buick get together and supply food, brews and they WILL come.
Do you have a torch for stubborn rusty bolts.
We could probably have it apart one day and then you could get bushings pressed in and out and put back together another.
I'll come and help, just not this saturday.
Tarey D.

Come on Central Ohio Buick guys RSVP :D

Jer, it's not that bad really. The worst part is R & I of the spring. You pretty much need an impact wrench and rental of a spring compressor. The rest can be done with a big hammer, chisel, drill, penetrating oil, front end fork and hand tools. However, to answer your question, a shop is probably going to spend the better part of a day on it. I would think a safe bet at $40/hour would be to spend $300 in labor getting it done. Now how does DIY sound? You will have to have the lower ball joints pressed in so you'll be paying for that service regardless.

Thanks for the posts Tarey and John.

John, DIY looked good from the beginning. I was just getting frustrated. Seems like I never have time to work on the damn thing. Always doing 10,000 other things. Oh well.. I will prolly end up doing it myself. Lord knows I don't have that kind of cash to throw around on something that I can do myself. I would just like to get the car back on the road.

I'm just b!tching and whining I guess. Take care guys.

If anyone wants to come over and help, lemme know when you're free. There's always plenty of beer at my garage.

Told ya so Jeremy....:( ;)

I will have some free time this weekend after I drop the wife and kid off at the airport and I have completed power-washing my deck.

Of course I'll want a long-term loan of a certain balancer. :D

I have the kit for my 85 Regal - one of the things I need done to the car I also was wondering how much to do it but im in NYC
(unless you guys want to vacation) ;)

i got a price from a very reputable front end shop in new jersey to replace everything the super front end kit comes with plus springs, center link and a few other things including a front end allighnment for 450 to 500 bucks. aint no way im doing it myself. it would probably be in my garage for a month. also that price included the rear bushings too.:D

Thanks for the info and offers guys (except kenny ;) ). I'm not going to be able to work on it until next week. It may have to wait until the weekend of the 26th. I'm sure it's gonna be REAL fun. So I'll try and have lots of beer! :D

Scott, you can use the balancer, but I may need it back around November.

I'll drop it off first thing in the morning. :D

... seriously, when are you free, you know I have nothing better to do. :)

OK guys here's the deal.

I'm busy this weekend beyond my control so this weekend is out. During the week I don't get home till 7:00pm so there is no time to do it then, anyways.

However, next weekend, Saturday the 26th will be the go date. I'm gonna start on it around noon or so. So come over if you can. I'll try to have some beer ;) Thanks for the help!

Give me directions. I will come with the BFH and plasma cutter and PB Blaster. I would love to see the central ohio buick gang again. These guys were great. Maybe we can get puuled over again and get it on tape this time?

Hahaha Let's not push our luck with the fine policemen of Valleyview that were nice enough to let you off the hook last time. ;)

Directions are easy.

1. Hit 71 south till you get to Columbus.
2. Pick up 70 West
2. Take the Hague Rd exit
This exit will take you back around under I-70
3. Stay on this road heading south and past through the stoplight
4. Next you will go over some railroad tracks.
5. Take a left at the next light, it's next to a Dairy Mart
6. Now you are headed East on Valleyview Dr.
7. Continue on ths road and you will see it make a 90 degree left hand turn.
8. Just before the turn, on the left is my house.

There ya go! Hope to see ya. Did you get that HG all taken care of? Did you ever get the X-lator back?

I'm scheduled to work at 6, but I'll see if I can get off. I'll probably stop by either way.

Hey guys, slight change of plans.

Ya'll can show up around 1:00pm on Saturday.

I have to go to one of those birthing classes with the wife Saturday morning.

I'm gonna try getting the front end apart this week so we can spend Saturday putting it back together. Thanks to everyone that's coming!
