I have an Pt-88 with the old 3 bolt housing and was curious to know how much is a 4 bolt housing and is there anything better then that. It is feeding an LQ4 V8. Thanks in advance

The 3 bolt is a minimal gain at best. I went 156mph with the 3bolt housing and didn't see much gain over that. The are several things better than you current turbo but if you are just running the old style PTE88 I would just use what you have.

GT4788 in both journal bearing or dual bb, or the GT5191 in either bearing configuration to me would be a hot ticket for an LQ4.
It really comes down to how much room you have to work with and how much power you are trying to make to the tires, as well as how much boost your motor will handle?

If you've got plenty of room to spare, (as going from a PT88TSE turbo with the 3-bolt turbine housing to a GT4788 or GT5591 will require alot more room on the turbine housing side when you upgrade) then you would only need to upgrade your downpipe. But if room is critical, then the regular PT88 with Precision's T4 style .96 A/R housing is pretty much it. Turbonetics does offer some of their thumper series turbos with T4 style inlet flanges, but the dimensions would drastically change from what you have now as well. The other issue you might run into is availability. I would recommend you give a call to Precision and see if they have any PT88 T4 style turbine housings left.

Let us know more about your application, and we can better help.

My combo is as of now a blown up stage 2 with a 5500 stahl turbo 400 with a tbrake backed up by a ford 9 with 35 spline axles and a 3.50 gear with 12.50 slicks or 325 50 mt drags. Car has gone 9.97 with the stage setup sick of the on edge and race gas. would be happy if the LQ4 is a fast but would settle for pump gas and 10's (Maybe some alky injection)
