Took the GN out to race last night.Filled up on 93 at the corner 7-11 by my house.Drove out to Redline Raceway(on slicks) which is about 45 miles from my house.Thought I would see what the 4.1 I put together could do on pump gas and here it is :

7.17 @ 97 1.65 60'
7.18 @ 97 1.66 60'
7.23 @ 97.53 1.72 60'
7.25 @ 97.42 1.73 60'
7.24 @ 97.66 1.72 60'

Then I aired up the slicks and drove home.
Not bad for a budget built shortblock IMO.The best the 3.8 did was in the 7.5s in the 1/8.

Cody Copeland was there in his v-6 GMC pickup doing some good #s for a fullsize with a 4.3.He was running right with those hemi dodge pickups.

Thanks.I will let you know about the old shortblock after I check out the bottom end and make sure it is still mechanically sound after all the beatings I put on it.

I will see you guys at the redline meet this weekend hopefully?Would be a shame to miss running that GN.I bet we could find a few tenths for ya'.

Unfortunately.. Marty will be out of town. Yeah, im not too happy about it either! But like i said before, he always gets my hopes up, then something else comes up and we cant go:mad:

I leave at around 4:00 pm from my house.I will be out in Tyler early in the day to get the trailer and hopefully back in time to load up and go.You will probably have to meet me at my house or somewhere close, then we could ride on out there.Your house is about 45 miles in the opposite direction for me otherwise. You can reach me on my cell anytime 469-446-5831.Give me a call and we will try to work out a plan.
