going to go alky soon and was wondering about the purple wire issue. they say grounding this will cut pump speed so you dont drown motor at launch. well i launch at 10 psi off foot brake and razor says you can hook to ebrake and release at launch. sounds like to much work to do watching lights, gauges and the tree all at once is ther anyway to hook to foot brake while spooling up then when the brake is released it goes into full spray

Mount a switch on the brake pedal to the purple wire. When you remove your foot from the pedal / switch it will activate the alky.

so this has been done with great results? how bad does the motors drown is it easier to keep drowning with a higher stall convertor like a 10 inch 3000 convertor to get the motor reving

Melissa doesn't have a problem launching at 10#s  just try it and leave the purple wire alone for now

Carriage before horse issue.

On my own car, nothing hooked up to purple wire. My previous TTA had it on the E-brake. Its there "in-case" you should need it due to ecm/chip/tuning abilities.

thanks guys. and thanks julio i will be getting one of these kits soon. just blew 4 cylinders out north, south, east, and west. both heads that was 785 o2's no kr. 1/8 mile runs WTF!!!! 24/22 timing. 25 psi. 110 turbo blue

Your heads must have had some knock before know. You usually blow because of the past, not the present.

yes i did i had 25 kr on scan master before the race because i thought i had timing at 20/18 but i had it at 24/22 on pump gas

There is why you blew.

Jason
on the way to the track i got on it a couple of times and at high boost it was nosing over and popping out the passengerside of motor. i guess that should of been a sign of not racing. now on a 500 mile motor all my bearing are toast

Typically one chips away at head gaskets and its never a clean blow.. you need to learn to ease into the pedal looking for any knock activity.. and only once the motor pulls cleanly.. then crank the boost up.

Leaving a car "Turned up" with an aggressive tuneup leads to problems. Hey its a learning experience,, we've all been there.. and the hopes is to learn from experiences..

Good luck on the repair.

now when i get your kit can i leave the setting alone after tune is in? lets say with eric chip 23/21 or are you always playing with it? i understand you have to compensate weather but i want to tune for respectable times yet leave some room for error or temp. change
