there is one other thing im curious about. Are the throttle cables interchangeable? And when I remove the engine with the harness, is the o2 sensor plug part of that engine harness?

the 87 cable is alot shorter.
the o2 are the same and the female end stays with the harness.

ok, ive got a couple more and ill leave you alone. on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the hardest, and I am pretty proficient when it comes to hands on, how difficult is it to remove the 84 engine, and get it completely converted to the 87 setup? also, how long do you think it would roughly take to do this? One other thing, would there be any other special things or parts that i would need to buy in order to get it installed?

be a 3.
depends on how much money and where you find parts. it took me all summer
air conditioning lines if you are keeping ac, still availibe from gm.
throttle cable
trans cable
if you are going with a front mount intercooler you wil need a idle air control motor adapter to turn the motor 45*
see if the torque converter will work with the 87 engine also

I didnt really mean to ask more questions, but ill just pull that throttle cable, and trans cable from the 87 and put them in my car. that would work, wouldnt it?

as to the front mount, I would like too, but that will be down the road.

and where would i go to see iff the converter will work with the 87? I might just take the tranny out of the 87 as well. I would imagine that the driveshaft back would all be the same. What years did the posi unit come in? lol i might have to check and see if this one has it.

yes it will
the diff code is g80 for posi. look on yours and the 86 in the trunk lid and see if one has it then swap if yours don't. or look and see if there is aluminum drums in the car that is a tell tail of non posi.if neither has it then you will have to save 700 for a posi and instalation kit from jegs or summit.

84-87 had the posi. but from the factory if it had aluminum drums like my 84 did then it does not have posi.

look at this to se what both cars have
Buick Turbo Regal Option Codes (Regular Production Options - RPO)
