What do I need to put in a new stock turbo? Gasket between the turbo and manifold, umm.. new oil line to the turbo? um...

I'm doing the swap sunday so I need to get all the parts ready. Thanks for the help..

I would also consider installing a new oil feed line to the turbo. Maybe 3 new nuts that attach the turbo to the header if your current nuts are rusty.

where can you get the oil line gasket and exhaust gaskets? regular auto parts store would have this stuff in stock or no

I got my new feed line and the gasket for the return line from Postons. I don't know if the local stores would carry anything although a GM dealer may. My turbo from PTE came with a new return line gasket. As was said earlier, that is the only gasket you should need.

Has anyone ever seen a coked up line? I have not seen too many other than my own but none of my three show any signs of coking....maybe good oil is worth something? :)

Seems to me that any coking would be on the output side where the oil is really hot.

Yeah I just ordered mine from Poston's. Nice company.

Get the ss oil return line from John's perfromance www.johnsperformance.com
and a set of double end studs for the oil return line going to the turbo(makes it alot easier to put it back in).

I have never seen a coked up feed line either. Although I have seen a couple drains with some coking but they are so large it doesn't even matter.

Personally I think it's just a ploy by the vendors to play on the fears of the ignorant and sell expensive braided lines ;) Oh by the way did I mention I have a braided feed line..:D I bought mine cause I figured it feed a little more oil to the turbo...:)
