I recently purchased a pair of qa1 adjustable shocks for the rear of my TR at a swap meet in Naptown. When I went to install them, the upper "t-bar" that mounts to the frame would not fit flush. In other words, I had to machine some spacers to go between the bar and the frame so the top of the shock would not hit the frame. The frame has a small indentation in it to accept the top of the shock, but it was not deep enough. It just so happens that I was talking to my dad on the phone when I was about ready to mount the shocks with the spacers when he told me that his TR had a hole in the frame so the shock would fit up in there. My car was a 3.8 carbed Limited that I converted to a TR setup. My friends 442 also had the hole in the frame for the shock. So either my car got by QC without the hole, or GM didn't deem it necessary to add the hole in a granny regal.......has anyone else ran into this?......I'm crawling under the car this evening with a 1 1/2" holesaw so I can eliminate the spacers. Maybe this will save someone a headache later on down the road.
