i have a 95 mustang 3.8 ... im trying to learn the differances in my engine to the GNs 3.8


and if i can build up to become like a GN 3.8 or swap one into my car ... and if anyone on here has done that and could give me some ideas on the long raod i have ahead of me to become a half breed

thy only share the fact that they are 3.8l in displacement! other then that the ferd block is a steamy pile of monkey dung!

its a 60* block where as the buick block is a 90* etc, etc......

there is really nothing you can do to help that motor. your best bet is to go to www.corral.net and check out the stuff over there there has been some build up in some of the ferd rags on kids putting superchargers on the motors etc but nothing really has gotten them to the levels our motors can be with the same amount of money

buy a buick and call it good!

turbobuicks.com has a thread on it. not sure the cost but a mustang with a GN engine , sounds like a champ of as hybrid.

thats the plan ... i know my engine is crap ... and the trannys go at 200 rwhp .... so i would have to swap in a buick 3.8 engine and tranny ... custom DS to a ford 8.8

are the none GN 3.8 blocks the same as the GN 3.8 blocks

wall thicknes ... reinforced block ????
 
3.8 NA / 3.8 T

No one has been able to prove to me that they are any diferent. The blocks are identical with the exception of some oil return passages. The cranks,cam,heads,and pretty much everything else are different. So if you find a Buick 3.8 Block, there's a start.
Not to be a pain, but wouldn't you rather drive a Buick?


You might want to consider purchasing an 85.5 or 86 Mustang SVO. A friend of mine has one and that is a pretty impressive little four cylinder. I have seen that car run circles around a 85+ Z28 with little modification. Hey at least it's a turbo and not a 302...wait 4.9......hold on it's a 302 again right?:D
 
yes i could do that.... yes i coudl be like everyone else and get the 4 with a turbo or the v8 ...yea yea ... NO i want a half breed that no one else has ... ( or not many have )


yes i would like to have a real GN ... no offence but i like the looks of my stang better then the GNs ... i just like the power you guys are putting down with a V6 ..... i dont want an 8 or a 4 .... im a V6 guy ... ( as i was once called ) :D

now on to finding a block ( hopefully complete ...cheap and needing rebuilt )

No offense taken.....

I have a 4.1 liter block and heads. The crank for that block is the turbo crank that the TR's use. I am going to build up my 3.8 instead. It is tha same exact block as the 3.8, w/ larger bore. Everything from a TR bolts directly on to it. If I didn't think my engine was in such good shape, I would build the 4.1. Interested? Fly me an e-mail. As ominous as the black bricks are, it's even more rare to see one with a 4.1 .
