I have the landeu top and am looking to take it off and have the car repainted. I will not put it back on....

1- My question is the quarter window trim, is it different than with the top and how does it get secured to the body?

2- The other question is about the rear window trim, how will it attach and if it's clips will there be some under the top?

If I need special 1/4 trim, and if anyone has the stainless rear window trim shoot me a p/m, I will buy it. Must be MINT!!

Here's a pic so ya know what I'm talkin about...

The trim is attached by nuts from the inside of the car. Just like the older name plates of the sixties and seventies. I cant tell from your picture if it is different for a landeu top or not but I dont believe so. Finding them in Chrome might be a little harder for you. As most T's and all GN's came blacked out. But then again almost all other regals were chrome.

Check out a friendly Buick dealer

Have a guy that is willing to help you out at a local Buick dealer that is willing to let you look at the old body manuals if they still have them. Sometimes when they're old enough the dealers donate them to the local library too so you'll have to ask 'em what they do with the books they feel they don't need anymore.

I live in the Mpls/St. Paul MN area. What I was suggesting is pick up your local Yellow Pages and look under Auto Dealers New Cars/ Buick dealers in "your" area, not mine. Most parts counter guys at the dealers I talk to are willing to let you look at the old books and even run photocopies of the pages you may need all u gotta do is ask.

Gotcha, I thought you meant you had some one to help me.

So, nobody knows what needs to be done or what lurks underneath for sure?????????

The rear, and 1/4 window trim---how does it attach--clips? If it uses clips, would there be some under the vinyl or if not, how can I attach the trim?
