Question about GNX

Can anyone tell me if the medalion of about 2" in diameter located on the rear frame rail of the wheel weld of "SH" or "HS" stands for? and is it specific only to the GNX.

I don't believe so, if I recall that same medallion was on my 1986 Grand National.

I've always believed it referred to a hardened framerail but have no reference to offer?
