Hi all, Can anyone "off the hat" tell me IF a power seat track, in ANY 78-87 "G anything" ... will work in a Buick Regal (an 87'). I have a manual seat NOW and wondered if a Cutlass, is a "Monte", is "Regal" pwr. Seat TRACK UNIT ... and again: IF all will inner-change (as I need / want a power set-up too replace manual one currently have).

The switch, AND "all of it".

Thanks in advance !

Best ;)

IC that ! ... The plastic surround has the switch openings in the BACK !

(that won't work will it ?). ALSO: Who has the plastic panel ?
*(would you / anyone know by chance ?)

It's definitely possible to do a "factory installed appearing" installation as long as you have all the correct parts...Proof is I did it myself. You need to know that the power seat tracks are different from '81-'86 and '87. The earlier tracks ('86 and older) have one single motor mated to a plastic transmission to move the seat in whichever direction you choose. The later tracks ('87), have three separate motors to do the job. Both models will fit in your GN, but parts aren't interchangeable between the two kinds of tracks. You also need the orange wire that goes from under the seat all the way under the dash, at the most upper corner on the driver side where the connector from the wire snaps into the big connector "bar". Hope this helps,
Good luck,

Claude.

Hi Claude, I have a power track I just bought outa an Old's Cutlass (about a 1980)
The plastic surround won't work as the switch is in the back ... (should be in the FRONT ).
The Seller said "G's" are all the same 78-87. I have not yet taken the manual track (the driver bucket seat out)
too see if THAT will even work. (It has one motor and 3 Solonid "bunker").

Some pictures of what you have would help!…'cause right now, I can't recall seeing one with the switch in the back…:(
Also like I said in my previous post, they will fit in the car but '78-'86 are the same, and '87 and up are different and parts won't interchange between them. Below are some pics of a correct '87 track.

"Gese I don't believe you " THANKS SO VERY MUCH for the picture !

I will have my kid post pic's of the power track I HAVE ASAP.
Man thanks again for your VALUABLE TIME Claude ! .

The things def. DIFFERENT then yours ... (MINE) ... (and I'll remember what you prefaced in the above) ! NOTE: The plastic cover is a "surround" type shroud.

I must not know how to correctly do it ...
TRY THIS: (in EBay Motors) : Ebay # 301068027494

if you get a three motor track just make sure you have the switch for it , the 87 switch for single motor track is different
the one in link just gets mounted behind the regal plastic side trim

One motor, 3 Solenoid's ... (It came with a switch).

"1980 Buick", when I enter the item number, this is the message I get: "This page may have moved or is no longer available." …:banghead:

Now when I enter the item number, I'm getting this message:

P.S: Maybe a better way would be for you to e-mail me the pictures at my address below?
