now that i got a trans working good and i have your 12" converter i took it out and made some pretty hard pulls on the car but on radials so no holeshots

to the question:

im in all street trim pushing 19# in it and under wot the converter is stalling at 3900-4000 rpm even on an early shift from a roll it shots strait to 4000 and never goes back under it even right on shifts

so should it be that loose or am i asking too much out of a 12" converter.

i really dont mind it at all but just wanting to see if it was normal for an 11 second car to stall it that hard

BTW.. it footbrakes on 16" radials at around 2300 it breaks em loose so that part is about right.

basically when is this converter over powered and should move to something better or will it take it ?

i plan to sent the car in the low low 11's or high 10's this summer and i travel a good distance to the track so i really want to know if im going to have to worry about it.

and will the lock-up clutch handle over 120 mph trap speed car at 3700#
 
I dont get it...

It stalls 2350 but underthrottle goes higher? Odd.
You will never overpower that piece. Just wont spool. But as far as overpowering , never.

cool glad i wont kill it but yea like if i stap it from a roll and go thru the gears it drops to 4000 on every shift even if i shift early it dont drop below 4000..

i dont have any spool problems with it and the 51 turbo it spools great and converter is fine i was just wondering if others that you've put them in have done te same.

im gonna strap the drag radials to it saturday for a lil street duty sat. night so i'll get to see more on how it pulls out the hole.

so it wont hurt it to lock it at the track i plan to lock it after it goes to second gearso the 4000 thing wont hurt me at all.
