when I'm in Neautral and I rev up the car it's like it grabs a little, like if I'm going 25-30mph and I shift to neautral and rev up to 3500-4000 it catches a little and moves the car forward. somthing wrong here or is the linkage off a little? It's a TH-350 with a B&M mega shifter. thanks.,

what this sounds like is that the forward clutch is either too tight or burnt causing the drive plates to drive the forward clutch hub even with the abscence of apply oil in the drum.www.ckperformance.com

I vote for shifter adjustment.

To add to what Chris said, if you do have a forward clutch problem than you would have some grabbing/jerking if you were to rev it up in park as well.

ohh, boy.... yeah there is a little bit of a "lunge" when I'm in park and rev it up, so this is a Forward clutch problem? I had the tranny completely rebuilt before I put it in the car, it probably has about 20,000 miles on it if that. Is this somthing I can do myself? Do I have to drop the tranny down? Thanks alot for the help guys.

Is your fluid black or does it smell burnt? If you want to work on it yourself, you should get a copy of Ron Sessions' "Turbo Hydra-
Matic 350 Handbook" if you don't already have one. HP Books &
is about $20.00. :)

Nordbert,
fluid is nice and red, and not burnt smelling. It shifts fine and everything else, maybe I shouldn't rev it up in park or neautral. Thanks for the advice.

the fwd clutch doesnt carry an upshifting torque load it is applied in every gear ,therefore it may not slip unless you overpower it with the engine .to know for sure see if the car jerks or binds in reverse w/low throttle first and then heavy.if it does ,pull it out, after verifying debris in the pan .www.ckperformance.com
