My question is if it is better to give the bodyshop the car apart or giving it to him whole. I am restoring the car and have the fenders, doors, hood, trunk and front and rears off. The chassis will be off this weekend if weather permits. thanks for the asistance....

I had my car painted in parts. There will be no tape lines from inside to outside. Normally they will part the door jams and inside of the doors first, then tape them off, paint the outside to the tape. When they peel the tape off it will have a raised edge. However, then you need to assemble a painted car and not scratch it. Just triple tape the edges and go SLOW and will look great.

I'm taking mine to paint with the mirrors, doors, fillers, rear valanche, and bumpers off, then I'll reassemble it all. I was going to paint it myself, but it's just not worth screwing up. I'm going with a 2 stage metallic, if I went with a single stage solid I would have done it myself, but I am not painting a car twice.....again, LOL.

Any good, quality, body shop can paint the individual parts. Always speak to your shop first, so there are no surprises.

I gave my car to the body shop stripped but with the doors still on. They guy that they had reassembling the car did everything a$$ backwards. I'm still struggling with trying to get the doors properly aligned and my anteana mount is all jammed inside the fender. I can't comaplin though, the car came out gorgeous. My advise, give em as little as possible.
