Ive seen some neat glass coatings on the newer lexus SUV"s that looks like a green tint with a dull chrome mirror effect. Is that something that can be sprayed on to exsisting glass? Im looking for a coating or treatment like you see on the arcitectural glass in large buildings.

Full metal
It's full metal tint. Just go to a good tint shop and tell them what you want (most of the time it's the highest priced stuff). After 12 years of my Sentra baking in the sun, the metal tint has kept the interior looking like new. You must get automotive tint as the type on buildings doesn't bend well and can scratch real easy.

My friend the glass tinter has never seen a product that
will duplicate that effect. He was just at the SEMA show and
didn't find anything that would match the Lexus glass.
He has a "high performance" film that he uses to get that
light mirrored look but he says it's more of a bronze shade
than green.

Dyed tint
Any tint that has dye in it will fade. The Sentra and Camry both had all metal that can't fade. The Camry is no longer around but the Sentra still looks new (the tint anyways) almost seven years since having the dyed tint replaced after less three years on the car. I hate the dyed tint now after seeing countless great looking cars with purple window film on it. The full metal that I have found is never darker than 20%

I hate to be barer of bad news. The factory tint on those vehicles in question are in the glass (not sprayed or film). There are good films out there though. The high performance films have the least fade and are more resistant to scratching. The high performance films that I use have a lifetime warranty. I use Sun-Gard films.
Also, there is no all metal film. Tint is made from polyester or vinyl. When tint first came out it was just dyed.Over time and with R&D film makers found that adding a thin layer of metal the color would last longer so now tint will stay the original color longer but not forever.
Tint has several benefits such as: blocks 99% of UV rays regardless of the darkness which saves your interior it also keeps the vehicle cooler in summer warmer in winter (has a insulating effect). I tinted my GN the day I bought it!
