question on turbo

Im in the middle of swapping in an IC setup on my car and while I have the turbo off I was thinking of upgrading to something a little bigger.
Does anyone know how a 3LM-299 would perform on these cars? I only ask because I have a friend who will give me a good condition one if I want it. Im already fabbing IC piping so doing a little more for the exhaust wont bother me. My main concern is how it will perform.

I just did a search on that turbo. Its a turbo for a diesel truck?

It was the same turbo used on a diesel, I think a 7.3l.
Similar to a lot of the holset turbos

I picked up 2 2000-2003 PSD turbos one time in hopes of making a twin turbo 383 SBC. They are supposed to support close to 550HP ea.

IMHO, in your case, it likely would spool like a dog.... because it was designed to be spooled by a 7.3L engine.... and you would be putting it on an engine nearly 1/2 its size......

I'd stick with stock.... or if the funds are available... buy one that had a hot side that was sized for your application..

My buddy is running a Holset on his 8 valve 2.2 liter Shelby Charger. Car has gone a best of 10.2@139mph. This with a standard transmission. I believe he is the fastest 2.2 standard Charger around.
