And although a Shurflo will run higher pressure, the SMC pump spools up faster & will put out 80 psi with 2 #15 nozzles, 100 psi with 1 #15.......if that isn't enough spray the car has other problems!
We have not yet had a failure on the HD pumps.

While I've heard this flammability issue before, this is simply an attempt by the Shurflo people to avoid any liability and really is a non-issue. If you're that timid about hi performance cars, buy a beetle.
To me "proofs in the pudding". I got 3 1/2 years and 75,000 miles of use on my SHURFLO pump. I never adjusted the pump pressure from the pulsing 60 psi. My pump never stopped working. No tuning issues. I used a 50/50 alky water mixture and now I use a 50/50 methanol mixture. If I thought I'd have better performance with 100% methanol, I wouldn't hesitate to use it. No alky pressure gauge.......because it's not necessary. Single nozzle........24#s of boost with no knock. What more could you want.......and all for under $175. I added activation lites and a manual activation button for nothing. If you need more bells and whistles, buy a TV for your dash.
Some guys like to tune and tune. That's fine. Get with one of those progressive boost controls. Right now, I'm happy where I'm at.
