I have a TTA with a 2004R. I would like to disconnect the
speedometer at the tranny for testing purposes. I am
getting conflicting info from local tranny rebuilders as
to what would happen. They say that after 50mph the
torque converter will not lock up and I will damage the
tranny.
One said that if I install a toggle switch and splice
two of the wires I could manually make the torque
converter lock up when I reach 50mph
Another one said that if I jump the top left and top right ALCL under the dash the torque converter will lock up
My questions are
1. If I just disconnect the wires going into the tranny,
will it cause damage ?
2. If thats ok, will I lose much performance
3. Any idea which two wires should be spliced for the
toggle switch.?
4. Does it sound right that if I jump the top left and top righ on the ALCL and use a toggle switch that that will lock up the converter ?
