Here it goes......

One is I found recently that my torque convertor is a lock-up and did not have a chance why its not locking up. Should I leave it the way it is or locking it up really helps.

Second that I got a new sets of MT ET drags 26x10's mounted on a 15x8 Weld's. I had been getting good luck with 14.5-15lbs of air in the tires and air bags at 25lbs on the right and 0-1 lbs on the left. The best 60ft I could get was a 1.88 and a 7psi launch. Also note that no tubes and screws on the rims with no slippage on the tire. Suspension is stock with bilstein shocks.

Locking the converter is suppose to give us about 2-3mph. I haven't tried it yet either but I now have the switch to lock it up the next time out so I should have a good comparison. I'm hoping that locking it up will push me into the 11's @ 112-113mph..

I also run 10x26 MT but I run tubes. My air bags have 25psi on the DS and 35psi on the PS...

I did wire up a toggle switch but nothing. I know the steps in checking the TC, I will have to check it later. Will locking it up damage the TC? What a good start off with the airr bags?

I'd add about 10psi to the DS then 25psi for the PS.

I use a lot of air compared to others (I think) b/c I launch with 15psi and I want the car as level as possible on the line..

WOW!

Is that the secret to 1.6 60's. I paid no attention to my Airbags last time out and had crappy 2.0 60's. I checked them when I got home and I had 0 in the DS and 16 in the PS. It was launching with 5 psi and ran a best of 12.94 @106. If I could only manage a 1.7- 1.8 I'd be well in the 12's like I want to be. Better tuning and I'll be tickling the 11's.

My secret to 1.60's is powerbraking until I see 15psi of boost THEN let let her RIP! I launch with as much boost as the track will hold.. I abuse the tar outa my car at the track because it sits in the garge too much:D

First of all, by it not locking on the highway, you are killing your gas mileage. Locking it up at the track may get you ~2 MPH if doing so doesn't lug your engine down too much. And Yes, it is hard on a transmission...but so is racing.

Car prolly looks a little goofy with that much air bag pressure differential. The proper setup for airbags is to have enough differential in the two bags such that when the car leaves, equal downforce is applied to each of the rear tires. When this occurs, the bumper will be parallel to the track on launch.

Try launching the car with a little boost on smooth concrete (i.e. your garage floor) and check the black marks. If the PS mark is a lot darker than the DS mark, then there is too much air in the PS bag. If you see evidence of wheel hop (mark, no mark, mark, no mark, etc.) then that side(s) needs more air.

The secret to great 60' times is launching with a lot of boost and applying equal downforce to both tires...and of course Torque.
