As some may know I busted my convertor (fin inside broke loose and lodged) so I had it repaired and sold the motor while it was out. Their wasn't a bunch of metal inside but a little when the convertor was cut apart. The new motor is done and I am getting my old trans back with the Stage-Right brake today. It has to be rebuilt so it is off tomorrow to get an upgrade with some PTS parts. Don't know exactly what is needed with the brake to hold up but I think we will get it figured out. I don't know the amount of mileage on my Level10 trans in the car now but it was working okay when the convertor went. Think I should yank it and put the rebuilt unit in with the brake or just run the Level10 trans in there now until it pukes? TIA

I would run it till it pukes. It may surprise you. On the other hand you dont want to be pissing with the tranny in June, you want it to all be one solid asswhooping machine

Could there be metal particles in the tranny from the converter?Do you want to chance it? Can it be flushed out or should it be completely taken apart.I was told that if a converter goes you should take the tranny apart and flush the lines. But I am by no means an expert!! just know enough to get into trouble,if that.

I'm no tranny expert either, but, I'd just get a professional flush and drive it til it drops.

The main questions is this: If shavings remain and kill the tranny a year from now, will the resulting rebuild likely cost more than it would now? What I mean is what are the chances that the damage will be so severe that you'd be better off with a preemptive strike?

I guess just run it until it pukes. Get the other one done then try some brake launches if I need to swap them.:D
