Hi guys I need help with a shifting problem on an 89 CTF 200-4R, this trans came in my 85 T Type. I know this is not the stock trans but it will have to do until I can get the correct trans. anyway this thing shifts very quik like bam, bam, bam, then into overdrive. Throttle valve cable is ajusted all the way in and can't be tghtened up any more. Is there anything I can do to lengthen the shifts. I was thinking maybe changing the governor. Any help would be appreciated.

changing the governor would definately be the next course of action but i would still like to say that a ctf code 2004r with the cable afjusted tight as can be should still pull a 4600 rpm wide open throttle upshift schedule.you also may have a tv limit valve problem in the valvebody not allowing it to supply enough modulated tv oil to the tv upshift valve and corresponding lands at the shift valves it feeds to raise shift points under heavy acceleration.a heavier tv limit spring may just be what is needed to correct this problem.before attempting this verify what is working properly such as manual upshifts without lifting the throttle and kickdowns that are properly functioning as to rule out other possible causes.properly set up this valve body will work .www.ckperformance.com

thanks for the reply chris i'll give your suggestions a try, other than the issues i wrote about though this trans shifts perfect just wayyy to quick, also could there be a possibility of having an incorrect tv cable installed with this trans and if so how would i check that.

wrong tv cable is not a variable in this equation .if we work together we can fix it.did you phone us today because we never recieved the pressure info we requested.?

sorry dude no call today i've been busy in orientation for my new employer i probably won't have time to due any tests until this week end i'll let you know what the results are then.

until then, thanks for all your help
