I wanted to get some more info before I called Quad Air.

Anyone using Red Armstrongs 93 chip have a problem with the A/C shutting off?

With my stock and pitbull chips, the air would shut off at 3/4-WOT.

Now, it seems like it shuts off from 1/2-3/4 throttle.

My TPS is set correctly.

I am tired of driving around sweating all the time...

street car, pump gas, stock block and turbo, 009's and alchy...

hmmmm...

Let me ask another question...

what controls the A/C? Does the "chip" tell the A/C to shut off at WOT?

i believe the ac is shut off during full throttle on all chips to help the performance

shawn

hmmm...

gnttype.org archives say, among other things 80% throttle...

I am still far from that when mine shuts off...

Maybe you have a funky pressure spike kicking out the compressor at higher engine rpms?

Might be worth trying to find out what is shutting down the compressor power. ???

If you are using direct scan and it tells you the ecm is doing it then nevermind.... ;)

I think it turns off at a certain TPS voltage, ~3 volts or so, Jim Testa or someone should be able to help with that

The A/C trip off point is a function of TPS %

Most all chips it's set to 80%

In looking at some Thrashers, they use 70%

The R/A chips I looked at were set to 80%

hmmm...

Well, I had set my TPS about six months ago. I checked it yesterday and WOT was 4.2!!! It must have gotten bumped or something...

...I moved it up to 4.85 and all is...much "cooler"...
