Other than price? Ummm... Price! I would have said that race gas is safer when pushing high boost 25lbs +, but I know Razor has some people running his kit into those boost numbers.

I've ran a couple of 26 lbs runs in 1st and 2nd but I don't like to. It was more of an accident and I am very glad that I didn't have an "accident" like a blown head gasket. I normally run 23 lbs. None of the runs had any knock and were all done on 93 and straight methanol.

You can run the same amount of boost on an alcohol injection kit as you can on race gas. Timing may/will be different.

And it is possible depending on turbo, IC, and mods to engine.. you may end up getting better performance on alky than race gas. Cars with small turbos, stock IC's, etc.. those will be faster on alky than race gas. Proven.

They both add octane. Alky adds cooling as a side benefit.

But.... it also adds another dimension to the tuning.

Being Boost, Fuel, Spark are the three... add alcohol.. thats 4.

The downside, having another tank to fill, and another component in the car to look after. The upside... once you try it.. you'll never go back.
