I was thinking of mixing a big drum using the basic method...
100 oz of toulene
25 oz of mineral spirits
3 oz of transmission fluid

What are things I need to watch out for, do to my car, and take precations in when mixing and using this? I understand this is going to be very flamable, corosive, and dangerous... so I want to do it right :D Now does this make the mixture leaded?

one of the cons of mixing racing gas with toulene or zylene
is that it will harden and deteriorate rubber fuel lines.
luckily our cars have very little rubber line. it will also remove
any build up in the fuel tank which could clog a fuel filter.
this will not be leaded fuel. the only thing that makes fuel
leaded is having lead in the fuel.

thanx.. but this will be for an lt1 :D Steel braided lines may be a good investment after all...

Mineral spirits & tranny oil are simply used to replace the lubricants normally found in pump gas that get diluted by the "booster"

Marvel Mystery Oil does a better job of this, doesn't take as much to be effective ( I use 2 oz per every 3 gallons of xylene in my homebrew blend) AND burns much cleaner than a slug of tranny fluid in the gas tank.

ahaha now this is the kinda info I was lookin for! keep this thread goin... :D

Am I reading this right, you want to put 100oz toluene in a 50gal drum? That wont do squat. You need to mix the xylene or toluene at a 3:1 ratio to get the octane up to around 100

The 3:1 ratio means 3 gal of gasoline (93 octane or better) to 1 gal of xylene or toulene, which gives you 4 gal of approx 100 octane unleaded. Then add 2 oz MM.
I have been using xylene on/off since 1992 and have had no problems.

Gary

I've asked this MANY times before, as i LIKE using Unleaded so:

Will my Octane be 110 or so by using 100Unleaded 3 gallons
to 1 gallon of Xylene?????

I've been using this for a while now and it SEEMS to keep knock down at 20-21Lbs. boost 25 degree timing (Recipe Upgrades)
