You folks think $3.50 a gallon is high - VP C16 racing fuel is running $12 a gallon My race car consumes somewhere around 2 gallons per 1/4 mile pass so that works out to about 1/8 mile to the gallon or almost $25 bucks a run.

In the Great State of CA

C16 is at $13.50 a gal.
91:frown: is at an average of $4.40 a gallon
89 avg price is at $3.99 a gallon
87 avg price is at $3.80 a gallon

looks like 100 octane for around $7 a gallon is a bargan

$12 a gallon? That's a good deal in my opinion!

I think we were paying $13+ for C-16 two years ago when we still had someplace to race....

I'd imagine that it would be around $15+ right now.

Still on the fence about BG. Changed and upgraded ALOT of stuff on the car over the winter. Just got it running last night and probably won't have time to make any shakedown hits before BG. I don't like to go up there without prior testing - always bites me! May look for some nearby events later on this summer.

I just bought a barrel of c-16 i paid 575.00 for a 55 gallon barrel that has 54 gallon of fuel in it, good luck,

I was getting Sunoco Maximal (Red) for $9.00 gal for the past 4-5 years. I bought some Maximal recently and he told me that he had some bad news for me.....that the price was going up to $10 gal for Maximal. I told him it's a bargain because the street gas went up much more than that in a 4-5 years period.

Back in the day...

I was talking to a board member a few days ago remembering aroung 1991 or so I could get leaded 108 race gas from a gas station/car wash on Addison by Kilbourn for $2.93 per gallon. Premium was about $1.29 to $1.39 a gallon. Man those were the days, U could cruise all nite looking for races and girls but not always in that order . The old bigblock Z28 loved that stuff. I would be happy to pay $2.93 for 87 octane right now.

but Bent 6 is running in the quarter what we run in the 1/8th . Something tells me 93 and alky wont cut it on 7 second 1/4 mile passes!

the 93 octane would definitely hinder the performance. I have thought about doing a little experimenting with the alky for intercooling however.......
