Will the ramchargers dual fan fit inside an 85 GN? Assuming of course you have the converted ecm and electric fan setup. Has anyone tried this? Were the results good?

RC Fans

I like em' :)

Just like installing a single elec fan that didnt originally come in the car, you make it work;) Actually, they fit perfect in between end tanks of the wider rads like the 86/87 (because they have provisions for the oil cooler they are wider), or the V8 Gbody rad which is a good cheap upgrade for our cars, or my favorite the Fbody aluminum rad upgrade which isnt very expensive either. For any of these you grab the metal rad hold down plate off of any V8 (.307) gbody in the junkyard (probably some others too). If someone has added the RC fans with the original narrow rad maybe they can chime in, but Im sure it can be done. I havent measured up that scenario, but hey its only metal and plastic so Im sure it can be made to work.
Results? Well with the RC fans and AL fbod rad, how do ya like temps no higher than 171-173deg after driving it hard in 85deg+ weather and then quickly comes down to under 160deg (Ive seen 157) and settles in the low 160s:cool: The fans are well worth it IMO and doing both the rad and the fans is even better.

Electric fan

I installed a single electric fan from a late model Buick on my stock radiator and it worked fine. When I upgraded and installed a front mounted intercooler it added to much heat for the stock radiator and running the AC. I switched over to a v8 radiator 27" wide, stock is 22" and put in a ramchargers duel fan set up. I found that the stock relay couldn't handle the two fans, it burned the contacts in the relay. I put in a double relay system, one relay for each fan and now it works fine. If you want to see pictures of the fan system go to Webshots.com and look up member mrbuick101 or try this link http://community.webshots.com/scripts/editPhotos.fcgi?action=viewall&albumID=74766963

I bought my RC fans last week

it was a piece of cake to get the fans to fit, they just snap right in between the tanks.
You only really have to cut 1 tab off to clear the steering box.
You cant go wrong when their $80

Id highly suggest maybe get the RC fan Kit with the harness.... or get the Casperc relay kit
The casper kit is a lil pricey but worth it

the hardest part about this install is the wiring harness,

if your alright with wiring it wont take ya bout maybe 2-3 hours to install everything

i still have the stocker

if you decide on the electric fans
you probli will have to go to the junkyard and gran an upper radiator support from a v8 G body
