Raybestos Pro Series Band(kevlar) or the alto red wide band? Which is better in the 200r4 and why? I burned up a alto red wide band but thats cuz of the cross over tube popped off the VB.

Stick with the Alto Band but not Kevlar. Use the red one.

I do not believe and have proven Kevlar bands are not the way to go in a 2004r. The Kevlar is actually harder than the metal and will warp, distort or plain wear the metal. Not good in any application as far as I'm concerned..

the only thing i have ever found a use for a kevlar band is in a powerglide to apply the transbrake.if it is ever used to transfer power on an upshift itss a loser imo.unless you are trying to fry something in short order .they even have kevlar frictions now.come on guys you have got to be kidding.stick to its original uses.................whatever they are.

I must correct myself

Chris is correct.
In a "holding" band application, it really doesn't matter. Will work well but so will anything else. Holding meaning, The band is like the forward clutch. It is either applied or it is not. It does not make a shift under big load. As a holding, meaning, again static, it would work.
