had a question for you buick gurus, imm planning to upgrade my engine in the near future and want to start doing research. my question is when i go with the engine builder should it matter if i let him know that i plan on going with alky and if i dont would it affect my engine? my plan is going 450-500hp and dont know if the alky does more wear and tear on the block! i really dont even know what the alky does at all! thanks guys!

All alky does is allow you to run more boost and timing. Therefore the alky is not what causes wear and tear, just the extra horsepower and torque.

Nope, all it does is cool the air/fuel charge and adds octane that allows you to run a higher boost without any knock. Think of it as a chemical intercooler and octane booster.
