Just finishing up my Razor alky kit install.

Can a regular cap be used on the alky reservoir ? should it be vented ?

Just want to be a bit more stealth and not have the tank cap give up the secret right away to people nosing under the hood.

alky cap

hmmm, stealth huh OH I like it I like it ALOT. I'm going to peel off the sticker on the cap.

The cap has a vent on it for a reason.. to filter out any dirt.

You can peel of the sticker, add green food dye, run heatshrink over hoses, etc.. many ways to skin a cat.

So to use a non filtered cap.. keep an eye on the filter a lot more.

Goes the same as pouring alcohol in without using a screen to pickup debris.

You can buy the original caps from GM, and Advance also sells them in their "Help" section.. just dont put the 20 years old cap on the tank.

thanks for clarifying..
i went the sticker removal route...

very nice kit btw
i took my time and did a very tidy install.

Spent the most time figuring out mounting for the mini overflow.
tucked it in the recommended spot between the battery /core supprt
ended up using a hole that secured the wires out to the headlights.

only thing left is to get me some alky

ill be posting up some pics

mini-overflow location

Can you post a pic of where you mounted it and the orientation of the tank, seems I don't have the clearance , impeding on the battery fitting back in slot.

Does the battery fit in the tray correctly? I had to force it in as well. I dont have it sitting the way it was recomended only because the line coming from the radiator cap was not long enough so i have the mine with the cap facing the fender instead of it facing the rad. hope this helps.

overflow pic

here a pic of mine installed.

It is mounted pretty much butted up to the core support.
The cap is on the pass fender side and the tank is on a slight angle back
toward the radiator.

i think this is how its intended because the hose length is just right this way

heres where mine went

just below the battery and no contact with anything

i used two small blocks of offset stacked 3/4" plywood (about 3"x4") to stand it off the wheelhouse due to the ribbing and 2 1/2" long bolts

fits like a glove
