How do you get on to those little sods, is there a special tool or what ?

5/16" deep socket worked fine for me.......

Royal T, Mine seem to have a shroud around them that prevents a socket getting on it...??
alsohow do you get a pipe on if you have a socket on it to open and close it. ?

1/4" drive - 5/16" 6 point deep socket will work. If it has been a while since they have been moved soak them with penetrating oil (PB blaster work well).

...but what about the open closing for bleeding with a tube on there ?

I just stopped in here to see what was going on. After reading the title of the thread I couldn't resist.

I was imagining this was about a pirate with rear-facing nipples that were bleeding. How disappointing.

after soaking the front nipples with the blaster, i still managed to snap off the passenger side. it broke off and its so clogged there is nothing coming out of the hole...DOH!...i used a 5/16 rear and 10mm for the front.

There is a special tool...

a little pricey-~$40, but works great. Google search Matco SPW455 for a picture.

...or install some one-man speed bleeder screws. Russell Performance #639520, about $10 each from Summit.
