I recently rebuilt my '85 GN's turbo. The compressor seal failed, (or so I thought). Bought a rebuild kit from Limit Engineering and the turbo went together without incident. Installed it on the car, it ran smoke-free for about 20 mins or so.

I then picked up the revs (1500rpm) and saw smoke billowing from the tailpipes. It continued to smoke for quite a while, eliminating the possibility of oil in the exhaust pipes/intake manifold burning off.

Took the turbo apart again, looked great, except that the compressor housing was full of oil. Chopper from Limit thought it might be an oil drainage problem, however, no such problem exists as far as a physical blockage.

Now I'm thinking there may be excess crankcase pressure allowing oil to collect in the center housing. Upon initial startup, the smoke is very thick and seems to dissipate if kept at idle. I inspected the PCV and beather, both checked out OK. Before I re-re-install the turbo, I'd like to know if anybody has any experience with this sort of problem.
