Going about 60mph on the freeway in drive my car red lines and doesnt switch gears or something... but in over drive it rides fine! could this be a transmission problem? if not what could it be?

I would start be adjusting the TV cable first. The link is for an 86/87 but the system is identical to the 84/85. The D shaped tab or button is on the throttle body bracket-driver side by the fire wall. keep us posted. Brad

What are you using to reference RPM? The digital tach on the instrument panel is notorious for reading incorrect after 24 years. Mine said I was 1500 rpm over what my a/m tach said.

But I think you are saying that on the highway it wont go to overdrive. So I assume it will go into o/d when you back off the pedal?

Follow adjustment as described above first.

The original tach and I have an aftermart tach.

While I'm on the freeway in drive and I reach about 60mph the tach is high in rpm and runs hard. Sound like it needs to switch gears but doesn't. Then When I shift to overdrive the rpm goes down and it runs smooth

I tried it but i didnt get a chance to drive it yet. although when it says it suppose to rachet back when you go WOT it didnt. So Brad do u mind checking to see how many ridges is out on your so i can get an idea on where it should be. If you get a chance. Also i was meaning to ask you about the wideband O2. Does that work good with a scanmaster or just a powerlogger? Because i was plan on buying a Wideband AEM Gauge Type UEGO from TurboTweak...

Sometimes you do not hear the ratchedsounds. Pushing the gas pedal set the cable. Play with it and test and retest. I am very happy with the wideband setup. I put the sensor on the test pipe and ran the wires under the console and to the powerlogger block. You have to buy a powerlogger and a special 6.0 TT chip. The scanmaster reads the wideband but I do not use it at all for this. I set the chip for the A/F ratio targets and test. The powerlogger records runs for diagnostics. Remember-The wideband only comes into play at WOT and makes tuning very easy. I will not be able to look at my car until Monday though for the cable setting. Brad

Ok. but will i be ok with getting that without the powerlogger and the new chip? because i just got that street chip and scanmaster and dont want to spend that much for two thing now due to the fact im about to get a ta33c... So if i can get away with this setup with the wideband that would be cool... so what you think?

There is nothing wrong with putting the wideband o2 sensor on and the gauge. I do not have any experience using a wideband sensor for tuning with your setup. This makes my ability to comment severely limited. I waited and went with the powerlogger, TT6.0 chip and wideband O2 for simplicity and ease of tuning. This way is expensive-$550. Brad
