Hello all, i am going to replace my pass. side remote control mirror and would like to know if anyone can tell me how to remove this. I know u have to take out the interior side panel to reach bolts to remove it, but how do i get cable out of panel and should i snake it with a cord to reattach it back through the maze through the instrument panel? Any help would be appreciated, and I did get my heater core in, it was a pain, we found out that there was a hanger clip from the factory that attaches to the front fender panel :confused:keeping the housing from being free to remove it, we just bent it out of the way, so thanks for all of your advice, thanks again

Remove the dash panel and unblot the remote lever. push it back into the dash. Reach under dash, you will find it. It's pretty easy to feed out...Hardest part is when you get to the door. Undo the rubber slever that goes between the door and body. You will have to fight with the remote lever because there's so much crap jammed in there, it will hang up but if you are persistent it will be no problem. To replace simply reverse the steps.

And before you pull it out, tie a string to the end and use it to pull it back thru when you re-install it

I think I can add something to this thread, as I removed mine today. First off, the string trick was a great idea. Remove the door panel and remove the two nuts holding the mirror onto the door. Push the remote lever into the dash as was already stated. Now go under the glove box and you will see a panel held on with 3 screws. Remove that panel, and you will just barely be able to see the gray cable jacket running along the plastic housing at the bottom, near the carpet. The cable jacket blends in with the plastic housing. It is held tight with a metal tab that is easily bent, to free up the cable. Now you can pull the cable through the dash, but it won't go through the door yet. Next, reposition the ecm to get it out of the way. There is a black plastic piece held on by a plastic push pin (like the tabs that hold in the hood insulator). Remove the push pin to move the plastic piece. It is visible in the third picture. Then, there is a thick black insulation pad behind the ecm, which you must move a little to expose the hole where the cable runs out and into the door. Now you can continue to pull the offending cable out of the door. Here are a couple pics. I hope this helps someone.
