Removing door panels or not?

Can the speakers on a CSII door panel be accessed just by pulling the box off? I tried to pull it off, but it seems sumthing is holding it. Does the door panel have to come out?

Lower door panel has to come off. There are 4 phillips head screws that hold the carpeted cover on. It takes less then 5 minutes per door, no biggy.
