Removing rear lower shock bolt

The one on my car is pretty rusty, and won't budge, thanks to many Chicago winters.

Are there any tips or tricks, or will I have to cut it off?

Thanks.

options include:

1) repeatedly soak PB Blaster penetrant overnight, see if it un-freezes

2) apply heat to bolt & nut , eg propane torch

3) 1/2" air impact wrench, if bolt snaps off, so what ;)

4) don't recall if it's a hardened nut, but if not hardened grade8, a nut splitter type tool may work.

5) pneumatic cutoff wheel.

Fortunately this nut is accessible, and is part of the shock, so no big deal if it gets boogered up.

I had to drill through the nut on opposite sides and then crack it off with a chisel. Replaced with 1/2" bolts and nuts, installed backwards with threads facing rear of car. Put plenty of antiseize on there.

Thanks for the tips.

It turns out that my favorite home-improvement tool, the sawzall, was able to make short work of the bolts.

I had to cut them at the fat metal bushing that the mounting bolt goes through, it was a lot of material to cut through, but it worked.

If anyone else every tries this method, I would advise taking your tires off first, the tip of the saw can jump and easily cut the sidewalls.
