Removing sensors from intake

If im running a new gauge cluster that does not use idiot lights, and a separate controller for the electric fans can i do away with these sensors ( i understand i need to keep the one labeled for the ECM ) or will they affect something else.

The green with yellow wire sensor can come out. With the fan resistor jumped out, it's been made obsolete. That's where a lot of people install a new unit for an aftermarket temp gauge.

Since you have no idiot light anymore for temp, the single wire sensor can go too. Unless you'd like to install a small LED to get your attention if you're not watching the gauges.


The ECM sensor needs to stay or the computer will get pissed.
