I used to work for Enterprise Rent-A-Car and people used to beat the cars senseless. Don't know of anyone that did nitrous but I was in Ricer land where i worked. People used to come in an drop thousands in cash to rent a car with a CD player for weeks. I would see them crusing the local strip and they didn't treat the cars nicely.

Another funny story done back in the early 90's was renting a Fox body 5.0 Mustang. If I remember correctly, they were all over the rental car lots in places like Florida, California, Hawaii, Arizona, etc
I think it was Car Craft that rented one and beat the balls off of it. Anyone remember that story?

Rental Car Abuse

For some reason or other, the movie "Days of Thunder" comes to mind.

I'm sure abuse happens all the time. "Hey, it's not my car"!
But to write about it in a national albeit enthusiast mag is pretty ballzy IMO.

The local nitrous guy has been doing that for years, only his system was even easier. He sharpened the jet so that it could be stabbed through the intake pipe, and had a setup that plugged into the cigarette lighter. You'd never expect this guy to do anything like that, but he sure did. He gets flown out to many races a year to tune guys systems for them, so having a rental was pretty common. I gotta try that sometime!
