I bought a used cam sensor, and the guy I got it from, had put on the interrupter repair kit, so that the little locating tang wont break off in the future. i noticed it was grinding when I rotated it, so I pulled it apart, did alot of cleaning, used a good oil, (way oil for mills (very high shear strength), went to a wave washer with 3 points of contact instead of 2, played with shimming to get the right thrust, etc. Now its a little stiffer than stock with a little less thrust distance. I'm really happy with how it turned out. I pulled out the old one yesterday, and was shocked to find the interrupter ring totally bent sideways at probably 10-15 degrees. The tang wasnt broken! I have no idea how this happened, cause last time I had the cover off, it was ok. I did notice the thing had gotten really loud lately and now I know why. I also tried to look at the cam gear/chain, but I couldnt get a good look at it at all. I couldnt even see if it was the stock chain or double roller....couldnt see any teeth either. Bummer. I also put a new O-ring on that had come with my intake gasket kit from a couple months ago. I cant believe how quiet it is now! It idles good, doesnt sound like its falling apart in 10 places....but I did notice its kind of slow returning to idle speed. I didnt do any adjusting procedure really. Just a basic lining up of features that GM put on there to make it easy for us, that no one seems to take advantage of. Theres no popping at WOT, and it runs realy good. Its just that the slow returning to idle thing has me a little concerned.
