If anyone doesn't know...I have had a problem with my torque converter not locking up for about 6 months now. I just now started trouble shooting it. Today since I had the pan off I decided to change my tcc solenoid. Also if that doesnt work then I plan to replace the brake switch. But can these two things really go bad? I've always had brake lights but then one day my cruise control stopped working and then my tcc stopped locking up. So maybe it is brake switch related? Both the tcc and brake switch were original and i haven't had a chance to test the car yet with the new solenoid (kinda hard to drive a car without a header, trans fluid, and a wheel missing, all on jack stands and jacks....lol!)

but anyways are these two components the main culprits of the tcc not locking up? what else is there to do if for some reason this doesn't solve the problem...

Brake switches do go out, but it is probably just out of adjustment. I believe you have said in the past your cruise control doesnt work, which supports that theory

Yeah brake switch, Throttle postition senser ( TPS ), Vehical speed senser ( VSS ), I would check the brake switch first then use a multi meter and check the TPS to make sure its working right and for proper adjustment after that I would check the VSS at the ECM for proper operation. If that dont clear your problem I would run a switch directly wired to the trans just to test and make sure the problem is not in the trans, if you get lockup with a direct wired switch then you know its not the trans. Good Luck
