Replacement GM rockers differ from orig stock ???

Any reason the replacement rocker arms from GM have the pushrod seats "offset" as compared to the originals where they are not ? Was this a design change ? I'm having a retainer wear problem and trying to track down the reason for it . thanks.

I'm not an engine rebuilder but when I rebuilt my 84 n/a 3.8 the original were offset and so were the replacements. There's a left and right
