Gonna put a new 9x11 converter in the TR. Is there a break in period on converters or do I put it in and go?

I only purchased the car recently and don't know much about the history. I can tell the engine's been out and supposedly the tranny too. Don't know how long ago or if anything was modified (it does shift hard though)

Is there anything else I should do when I put in the converter?
Change fluid and filter in tranny? Add tranny cooler?

Thanks

I would have the whole tranny gone thru if I was putting in a new convertor(unless trans has LOW miles, hard shift means nothing,u can make a stocker shift hard with TV cable adjustment)Dont want trash being sent thru a new convertor.I just recently put a Pats 10"(thanks Bweavy) in my car and had my spare BRF built up.No down time and peice of mind that im not going to ruin a new $500+ convertor.

Your choice.

And there is no break in.In the 20+ transmissions ive had built and installed new convertors in,I broke it in just like id drive it,WOT!!:D

yeah i just put in a 9x11 a few weeks ago and didn't do any break in period. The next day I was doing burn outs and launches. You could say that was my break in.
