I need to swap out the governor in my 200r4. I have the new governor and from what I'm being told all I need to do is drop the pan, undo the three or four bolts holding it in, drop it and slide the new one in and the put the pan back on. Any comments or suggestions.

Get new governor cover gasket first. Drop pan, remove four bolts and cover. install governor, new gasket cover and bolts. Torque bolts to german torque (gutentight) evenly. install pan, fluid and go.

Govenor gasket is very thin. Crapshoot if it will come off in one piece. Very cheap but necessary to have a good one.

Thanks for the info. I looked at the governor this morning and they did ship me a new gasket with the governor.

I did the swap yesterday and it's like a completely different car. It shifts every time (WOT) at 4800 to 5000. I think that’s much better than 3800. It has time to build up about 19 to 20 lbs of boost.
