I recently purchased a 86 Limited & would like to see some pics from members of the board! It has aftermarket wheels & I would like to see what the stock wheels look like. I'm also interested in the American Wheels that were used on many Turbo T's. Thanks,

Information???

What hoods come on the Limiteds? What are the differences between the turbo Limiteds & non-turbo models (body, interior, drivetrain)? Thanks,

A Turbo Regal Limited has the same aluminum wheels as a T-Type or Turbo T, same bulge hood, same exhaust but addition of "Limited" on rear quarter in front of tail lights and extra chrome. There's other sublte differences as well. Picture it this way, take grandma's leather slo-mo Regal and add turbo engine, bulge hood, 15" T aluminum wheels and dual exhaust. You now have a Turbo Regal Limited.

Can't remember at the moment if you could order a Turbo Limited with the W02 black out package or not. I'm too lazy to look in my book at the moment....sorry.

Lots of options there. You could keep it a grandma's car with puffy leather seating and column shift to a 60/40 or a 45/45 with a huge console with column shift, or opt for no center console. Kirban's Guide to 1986-1987 Turbo Buicks is a great source for such info. I've read mine cover to cover and found the section regarding the Limiteds most interesting. The combination of options made the cars VERY unique. Recently I found two pristine examples on the net with full leather interior, only of which several hundred were made. What's cool is the fact the Limiteds had all the chrome and white cornering lights (optional) up on the front fenders like a Caddy.

TTA1322, Did T's come with buckets and a column shift? Mine's not a Limited, but has regular T buckets and a little, tall armrest. It appears to be matching pieces, but I've never been sure if it's factory.

TIA

A Turbo Regal, Turbo T and T-Type came standard with a bench seat and column shift. An upgraded interior was available in 60/40 with armrest or GN style (not color) seat arrangement.

Gauges & Fiberglass Hood???

I know the one difference will be the boost gauge (lights). Are there any other? Thanks!! Where can you get a good fiberglass hood for our cars? Thanks,

Sure could :) See below

My Limited

The Limited had the thicker plush carpet, the fancy hinged door pulls, and backlit dash emblem. Also the loose pillow or leather seats. Those are the biggest interior differences that I can think of now.

If you chose the WO2 blackout, you cancelled out the shiny lower door trim.

Cool87, the '86 Limited that you had purchased, it's a N.A. (non-Turbo)car, right?

Non-Turbo Limited

Yes, it's a non-turbo Limited. I just want to make sure I hook it up right. I have the complete drivetrain. I know I need the wheels and hood. What rear end does the V-8 Regals come with? I'm swapping some things off my 87 GN to the Limited (like the TE-51, 55's, ME 16 POS, ported heads with port matched lower intake, ported doghouse, ported t.b. & modified ECU) & upgrading the GN with bigger & better! I want the Limited to look plain, but be a high 11 second ride. Thanks,

:D

The dash/instrument cluster was the same for the turbo Limited as a GN or T-Type with optional digital dash. The exception was the plate above the glove box.

The turbo V-6 rear end was a 3.42 with limited slip as an option. The V-8 rears had a multitude (5 I think) of gear options.

Did you say only a couple hundred with leather interior? Do you know how rare the half console was on the Limited's?

Thanks,
Ken

I'd be more than happy to check my book but apparently it's grown legs and walked away for the moment. I can say this, there were only 1,035 Turbo Limiteds 200 of which were leather and a tiny % of those had NO or half console.

Here's an EXCELLENT example of just what I'm referring to, wish I had the $ to pick it up...it's a steal!:

This particular one has the cornering lights in the front fenders:

I'll try and take some pics once it's light out. Mine's a bit different with the burgandy bench seat, column shift, sun roof, digital dash, twilight sentinel, etc.

Thanks TT/A 1233.

Mine is Dark Metallic Blue with the Gray Leather and half console. It also has the cornering lights. I think I am going to buy that book. When I bought the car I knew it was rare but I didn't realize how rare it is. It also has T-tops which I don't see many Dark Metallic Blue with T-tops. Matter fact I have only seen 1 other and it was an 86 T-Type on E-bay.

Thanks,
Ken

I *think* mine is pretty rare.....I spoke to Kirban at Etown last Labor day and he said prolly not more than a handful (5-10) were optioned like mine
