I have a question. I'm starting to tune in some power with my new build and I know Bison has some experience with this so I can learn more.
I have and took out a Bruce Trans 9/11 3,700 stall. It's a nice piece. It stalled 3,700 at 0 boost. My problem which might not be the convertor is after I started turning up the power the transmission would 6,000+ rpm and not shift on the street above 21 psi boost with tire spin. At the track it worked ok with no spin at 24 psi. My 9/11 is stamped 3,700 stall with my name and they did not lie! Exactly that! It's old school so trying to figure out the new convertors.
I tried to order a PTC convertor but was 6+ months back ordered. So instead I got a Rev X 9.5 lockup.
What I'm experiencing is at 0 boost it's about 1,800 stall and flash with boost is 2,900. I know these convertors are tight then not then tight. What am I supposed to expect with this convertor in about the 600 hp range? Something wrong or is this how they work?
I'm using a Precision 62/66 Next Gen ball bearing turbo.
