Anyone have any experience with the Rock Island Armory 1911? Seems like a cheap start for a 1911 (~$400). Lots of the reviews look good on them. Can't find anyone locally who has em.

My father in law bought a Springfield Armory 1911 and it is NICE, but it was $700+ to start.... He hasn't even modded it yet.

1911forum.com is a much more laid back forum with about the same info. The other board is pretty tough on their restrictions. I prefer Les Baer, Ed Brown, and / or Wilson Combat, somewhat more pricey.
